Arc is a scalable technology platform that provides unique tools to collect, manage, analyze, score and communicate information about the operational performance of spaces, buildings, places and entire portfolios.
Arc aggregates data from a variety of sources— such as meters, utility bills and user surveys; and connects that data with solutions that drive sustainability and efficiencies—such as rating systems, standards, labels, and certifications. Arc pulls all of that data together and provides users with analytics, scores and visualizations.
Arc addresses and scores in five broad performance categories: energy, water, waste, transportation and human experience. Users can track data in these categories to understand and improve the performance of spaces, buildings, places or entire portfolios. You can start as small as tracking one performance dimension for a small space and expand their scope over time to address all five performance dimensions across a complex, global portfolio.
Arc generates holistic performance scores based on a weighted combination of energy, water, waste, transportation and human experience. Each performance category is associated with a set of measurable operational performance metrics, such as electricity consumption or waste generation.
Scores generated by Arc can be used in a variety of different ways, including streamlining green building certification, tracking project performance, guiding portfolio management and supporting city-wide sustainability efforts. Arc Performance Scores are an integral part of the LEED v4.1 O+M rating system. LEED v4.1 O+M starts with operational performance and adds important prescriptive requirements. Together, the combination provides a state-of-the-art, holistic leadership standard for spaces, buildings and places.
Think of it this way: LEED (and other green building rating systems) are recipes, Arc is the kitchen and project teams provide the raw ingredients. Arc can be used to prepare many recipes from a palette of operational performance data ingredients.
